Dogness

We have a dog. A. did a whole bunch of caricatures of the dog while posing for treats, a few of which are below (click image for larger version). H. drew a dog in what must be every dog's ultimate temptation...

Loosy pen sketches

We've been watching video clips of Joann Sfar sketching in ink. A. has decided to give this a try with some pretty good results - tentative pencil lines are now committed ink lines. Here's a fictional sketch of a girl and a life drawing of a gumball machine:

Quick sketches of household objects

Here's a bunch of stuff around the house that A. sketched, each about 2 minues or less.

Gear Works

Little elves are running the factory:

Not "Holy Cow", but rather "Hockey Cow"

H. is drawing pictures of hockey playing cows. Udderly silly, I think:

Chicken on the Farm - a short illustrated story

Just in time for the Thanksgiving is a tale about a chicken and the holidays.

It's shown here at actual size: it was made on a pad of Post-It notes during a "lull" in the classroom. Not only does it have a front cover, but also a synopsis on the back cover (second image below). Enjoy reading:

Puppies

Bashful and Gleeful the puppies.

Mr. Roboto

A got a new pen and has been trying out a bunch of stuff. Beware Mr. Roboto: he's had a rough day.

Puss-In-Boot's brother Ralph

The In-Boots family had a number of accomplished family members. Everyone remembers Puss, but few know about his skilled brother, Rodeo Ralph. Perhaps Puss did not talk about his brother because he did not approve of spurs and fringes:

Don't get caught!

If we lived in an aquarium, this would happen every once in a while. Thankfully, this time, there's no net. Look out!

Trapped in a sketch book

There are a lot of big eyed critters staring forlornly out of the sketch book these days. Maybe they need to eat more fiber:

Puppy City

If cities were built for dogs, it would not be good to be a cow (click image to read signs):

Just anOtter Pretty Face

A is sketching animals. Here's a portrait:

Pig Farm

It's been too long since the last post. Here's a drawing by H of a pig's life.

More Monsters

It's been a while for some posts, so here are three quick posts. The first post is a favorite theme - more monsters. These guys seem to have the cute-ugly monster gene:

Preschool Eye-spy

I spy a puzzle-maker cross-eyed,
with his and hers bathrooms beside,
3 pacifiers, 2 diapers and a trike,
a doll-house and a returning doll,
and a dainty teacher in the center of it all:

Signs of Spring!

It's time for spring and spring related activities. Perhaps bunnies smelling the daisies. Kids playing baseball. And the end of hockey season: the roughed up bruised, broken, stitched and bandaged critters can take a rest until the autumn.

Today the Easter Bunny was supposed to make an appearance - but instead - out came the Evil Bunny:

Bee Girl

Spring is on it's way. Time to break out the floral capri pants and for the bees to come out of hibernation.

Wanted: Dead or Alive

It's been a long time since the last post. Here's a recent string of felons from H. Looks like some characters have been stealing cheese and seal meat:

Game Pieces

We recently found a bunch of cut-out drawings. Maybe this is a game. Match the animal to the food? But just what do pirate cows and snorkel cats eat?
